Apple is preparing to launch its iPhone 17 lineup in September 2025. The new series includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro. According to CNET, the official announcement will likely happen during Apple’s annual keynote event. Traditionally, Apple hosts this event on the first Tuesday after Labour Day.

However, Labour Day in 2025 falls on Monday, September 1. This puts the usual announcement date on Tuesday, September 2. Yet, Apple may delay the keynote to September 9 instead. The reason is to avoid clashing with IFA Berlin, a major tech show happening the same week.

If Apple holds the event on September 9, pre-orders will likely start on Friday, September 12. This aligns with Apple’s trend of starting pre-orders the Friday after their keynote. The new iPhones are expected to hit stores on Friday, September 19. This release pattern is in line with previous iPhone launches.

The iPhone 17 series will feature fresh designs across at least three models. Some models may not release at the same time. For example, past iPhones like the iPhone XR and iPhone 12 mini were delayed. The iPhone 17 Air may also face a slight delay, though Apple has not confirmed this yet.

If delays happen, they are expected to be minor. Pre-orders for any delayed models would open after September 12. Sales would then begin a few days or weeks later. However, Apple usually tries to keep delays short to maintain customer excitement.

As the event approaches, September 9 and September 19 remain the most likely dates. Final confirmation will come closer to the keynote. For now, fans can expect big changes and fresh features in Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup.
